TREASURE ISLAND, San Francisco — A new public beach park at Clipper Cove is among the projects expected to expand waterfront access around Treasure Island and Yerba Buena Island.
San Francisco Recreation and Parks lists the planned Clipper Cove Beach facility at 195 Treasure Island Road. The agency says the Treasure Island Development Authority is leading construction of a park with lawns, seating, water views and improved connections to the sheltered cove. Its facility listing states a target opening period of fall 2026.
The park’s target opening season is not proof that all new amenities are ready for use on November 1. The cove already has a reputation for kayaking and recreation, but access conditions, safety restrictions and active work zones may differ from those at a fully completed park.
What residents should know
Visitors should review current city park notices and signs before arranging a beach day. Even where a beach is accessible, check water quality, weather and local rules rather than treating descriptions of calm conditions as a guarantee of safe swimming.
